Three steps to a secure denture

We take time to understand you, then use x-rays and 3D scans to plan your treatment. Your options, timescale and investment are explained clearly before anything begins.
2Your implants are placed
Pinar or Jonathan carefully places titanium implants in the jaw. Between 4 and 8 implants are needed to secure a denture. They are then left for 3 to 6 months while the bone and gum heal around them.
3Your new denture
Once healed, your denture is crafted and fitted to your implants, designed to look natural and feel secure.

Suitability
Are you suitable for treatment?
Dental implants need healthy gums and enough jawbone to support them. At your consultation, Pinar or Jonathan will use x-rays and scans to check both, and explain clearly what they find.
Some patients see our hygiene team first, to make sure their gums are healthy before treatment begins. If there is not enough bone, you may need preparatory treatment such as bone grafting or a sinus lift before your implants are placed.

It’s natural to have questions
How many implants do I need to secure a denture?
Between 4 and 8 implants are needed to securely fix a denture in place. The right number for you is confirmed with scans at your consultation.
How long does treatment take?
After your implants are placed they are usually left for 3 to 6 months to heal before they can support your final denture.
Will treatment hurt?
Treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic, so the area is numb. Some soreness afterwards is normal and usually settles within a few days.
I already wear a denture. Can it be secured?
That depends on your denture and your jaw. We will assess both at your consultation and explain your options.
What is the difference between this and All on 4?
Both replace a full arch of teeth using implants. Your dentist will explain how they differ and which may suit you better.
